Jelly Roll was born on the 4th of December 1984 in Antioch, Tennessee, United States of America is the place where he was born. Jelly Roll’s real name is Jason Bradley DeFord. Jelly Roll doesn’t have an ideal childhood. His father is a professional meat seller and bookie, and his mother is also a drug addict and suffering from severe mental illness. His childhood environment had a profound harmful effect on Jelly Roll as he was arrested for selling Marijuana and attempted robbery. He was only fourteen years of age when he was caught selling drugs. Although he was a minor of fourteen years, due to the severity of the crime, he was charged as an adult.

Afterwards, the court sentenced him to 20 years in jail. However, Jelly only spent one year in prison and the next seven years on probation for his crime. After being released from custody, Jelly Roll never returned to his criminal life again and started his career as a rapper and singer.

Career

Jelly Roll begins his music journey by singing Hip Hop songs. He got his singing inspiration from famous hip-hop singers like “8Ball & MJG,” “UGK,” and “Three 6 Mafia.” He released his first music project in 2003, “The Plain Shmear Tape.” After that, he released his second music project in four parts from 2004 to 2011, and his second music project’s title was “Gamblin’ on The White Boy.”  

Jelly Roll also worked on a collaborative project with Lil Wyte, and the song title is “Pop Another Pill.” This song got a lot of success and garnered more than 7 million views on YouTube. Later on, this song was also included in an album “Year Round” of “SNO” (And Hip Hop Group). Jelly Roll was also a previous member of “SNO.” From 2011 to several years later, Jelly Roll released multiple albums, mix tapes and collaborative music with numerous artists like:
